Jon Elmore and Herd That ran their way deep into TBT last summer. After an opening-round victory over Team DRC, it looks like another run may be in the team’s future.

Elmore scored 21 points and teamed up with forward Jacorey Williams (game-high 23 points) to lead the hometown Marshall University alumni squad past Team DRC, 85-76.

“I don’t know what would have happened if we would have lost the first game,” joked Elmore afterwards. “I live here (in Charleston), so I would have heard about that forever.”

Elmore credited teamwork and chemistry with his team’s early success.

“We had a week of training camp and put in a lot of work,” said Elmore. “All of our guys were phenomenal, professionals on the court and off the court. They came to work.”

Elmore, a three-time TBT participant and Conference USA’s all-time leading scorer, was clear on his team’s goals for this summer.

“Our goal is to win the million dollars.”

After Saturday, Herd That is one step closer.
