Harrell Returns to The Ville for Louisville’s Matchup with Kentucky July 18-22
The Ville, the Louisville alumni team competing in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) this summer, today announced the roster addition of Montrezl Harrell
Harrell joins Ray Spalding, Trey Lewis, David Johnson, Jae’lyn Withers, Jaylen Johnson, Angel Nunez, Russ Smith, Edgar Sosa, and Malik Williams as the ten Louisville alumni currently announced on the The Ville roster. The Ville’s final roster for TBT 2026 will be unveiled this week.
This summer will mark Harrell’s third consecutive tournament with The Ville. The 32-year-old led The Ville in scoring last summer, averaging 23 points per game.
Harrell spent three years at Louisville (2012–15), appearing in 112 games. As a freshman, he played a key role off the bench, helping the Cardinals win the 2013 National Championship.
Harrell was selected with the 32nd overall pick by the Houston Rockets in the 2015 NBA Draft, and spent two seasons with the franchise. He then moved to the LA Clippers, where he won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award in 2020. After leaving the Clippers organization in 2021, Harrell spent time with the Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets, and Philadelphia 76ers before making the move overseas. Harrell most recently played for Atleticos de San German in Puerto Rico.
The Ville will take on La Familia, the Kentucky alumni team, in a first round best-of-three series.
As part of the best-of-three series, both teams will have a chance to host at least one home game. The first game of the series will take place at Kentucky’s Memorial Coliseum, July 18, at noon, and will be televised nationally on FOX. Game two will be played at Freedom Hall in Louisville on Monday, July 20, at 7 pm ET and will be televised live on FS1.
Game three (if necessary) will be played in Lexington on Wednesday, July 22, at 7 pm ET and will be televised live on FS1.
