The Ville, the Louisville alumni team competing in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) this summer, today announced the roster additions of Ray Spalding, Trey Lewis, and David Johnson.

Spalding, Lewis, and Johnson join Jae’lyn Withers, Jaylen Johnson, Angel Nunez, Russ Smith, Edgar Sosa, and Malik Williams as the nine Louisville alumni currently announced on the The Ville roster. More players will be announced in the coming weeks.

Spalding played at Louisville from 2015-18, starting 49 of 100 career games. The Louisville native was drafted with the 56th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, and spent parts of three seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, Charlotte Hornets, and Houston Rockets. Spalding spent the 2025-26 season with the Noblesville Boom, the G League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers. This summer will be Spalding’s TBT debut.

A transfer from Penn State and Cleveland State, Lewis joined Louisville for the 2015-16 season. He started 25 games and helped lead the Cardinals to a 23-8 record. Lewis then embarked on a 6-year professional career, with stops in Germany, France, Israel, and Montenegro.

This summer’s tournament will be Johnson’s third straight year suiting up for The Ville. Johnson spent two years at Louisville from 2019-21, appearing in 46 career games. After his sophomore season at Louisville, Johnson declared for the 2021 NBA Draft, and was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 47th overall pick. Johnson spent his first season as a professional with the Raptors before joining their G League team. He most recently played for the Tasmania JackJumpers in Australia.

The Ville will take on La Familia, the Kentucky alumni team, in a first round best-of-three series.

As part of the best-of-three series, both teams will have a chance to host at least one home game. The first game of the series will take place at Kentucky’s Memorial Coliseum, July 18, at noon, and will be televised nationally on FOX. Game two will be played at Freedom Hall in Louisville on Monday, July 20, at 7 pm ET and will be televised live on FS1.

Game three (if necessary) will be played in Lexington on Wednesday, July 22, at 7 pm ET and will be televised live on FS1.
