Boeheim’s Army (Syracuse Alumni) held off a determined Hall In (Seton Hall Alumni) squad Thursday night, earning an 81-76 victory to complete a 2-0 sweep in their best-of-three first-round TBT series and advance to the Alumni Semifinals. Boeheim’s Army earned the victory in front of a crowd filled with Syracuse basketball royalty, as Carmelo Anthony, Jim Boeheim, Gerry McNamara and members of the 2026-27 Syracuse men’s basketball team were all on hand to cheer on the Orange alumni.
After cruising to a 30-point victory in Game 1 on Tuesday, Boeheim’s Army faced a much tougher challenge as Hall In welcomed back Isiah Whitehead, Terry Roberts and Phillip Carr to the lineup. The two teams battled evenly throughout the first half, finishing the opening quarter tied at 13 before Syracuse took a narrow 32-28 lead into halftime.
Seton Hall came out firing after the break, erupting for 29 third-quarter points behind Ant Nelson and Isiah Whitehead to trim the deficit to just 59-57 entering the fourth. Buddy Boeheim was able to take over in the final period, knocking down three fourth-quarter three-pointers to help Syracuse maintain its advantage heading into the Elam Ending.
With the Target Score set at 81, Hall In mounted one final rally, cutting the deficit to 80-76 before Tyson Walker stepped to the free-throw line and knocked down the game-clinching point to send Boeheim’s Army into the next round.
Syracuse placed all five starters in double figures, led by Tyson Walker’s 15 points and 10 assists. Cole Swider added 15 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, Buddy Boeheim finished with 14 points, Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu scored 14 on a perfect 7-for-7 shooting night, and Elijah Hughes chipped in 12 points.
Hall In was led by Ant Nelson’s game-high 20 points, while Isiah Whitehead added 17 points and nine rebounds in his return to the lineup. Colby Rogers scored 13 points, and Darnell Brodie contributed nine points and five rebounds off the bench, but Seton Hall shot just 38.7% from the field in the loss.
